Ephesians Capítulo 1

KJV — King James Version · 23 versículos

1

Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, to the saints which are at Ephesus, and to the faithful in Christ Jesus:

Spiritual Insight

Paul introduces himself not by his own merit but by God's will. There's something beautiful about finding your identity in a calling rather than your achievements. The saints in Ephesus were just ordinary people living out faithfulness.

2

Grace be to you, and peace, from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ.

Spiritual Insight

Grace and peace — Paul's signature greeting carries real weight. These aren't just polite words; they're a blessing that speaks to our deepest needs. God's grace meets our brokenness, and His peace settles our restlessness.

3

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ:

Spiritual Insight

Every spiritual blessing is already ours in Christ — not something we chase after, but something we already have. It's like discovering a treasure chest you didn't know was in your attic.

4

According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love:

Spiritual Insight

Before the world even began, God chose us. That means His love for you isn't a reaction to anything you did — it's the oldest story in the universe. You were wanted before you existed.

5

Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will,

Spiritual Insight

Adoption into God's family wasn't a backup plan — it was His joyful intention all along. The Creator of the universe looked at you and said, 'I want that one as my child.'

6

To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved.

Spiritual Insight

We're accepted in the Beloved — not tolerated, not barely let in, but genuinely welcomed. Grace isn't just forgiveness; it's being embraced by a Father who delights in you.

7

In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace;

Spiritual Insight

Redemption through His blood, forgiveness of sins — these aren't small words. Someone paid an enormous price to buy your freedom. Your forgiveness cost everything.

8

Wherein he hath abounded toward us in all wisdom and prudence;

Spiritual Insight

God doesn't just forgive and walk away — He lavishes wisdom and understanding on us. He wants us to actually understand what He's done, not just benefit from it blindly.

9

Having made known unto us the mystery of his will, according to his good pleasure which he hath purposed in himself:

Spiritual Insight

The mystery of God's will has been made known to us. God isn't playing hide-and-seek with His purposes — He actually wants us in on the plan. That's an incredible level of trust.

10

That in the dispensation of the fulness of times he might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven, and which are on earth; even in him:

Spiritual Insight

Everything in heaven and earth will ultimately be united in Christ. All the broken pieces, all the fragmentation — God is in the business of making things whole again.

11

In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will:

Spiritual Insight

We have an inheritance in Christ, and God works everything according to His will. Even when life feels random, there's a purposeful hand guiding the story.

12

That we should be to the praise of his glory, who first trusted in Christ.

Spiritual Insight

Our lives can actually bring praise to God's glory. That's not pressure — that's purpose. We get to be living evidence of God's goodness.

13

In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,

Spiritual Insight

You heard the truth, you believed, and you were sealed with the Holy Spirit. That seal is God's ownership mark on you — you belong to Him, and nothing can change that.

14

Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory.

Spiritual Insight

The Holy Spirit is like a down payment — God's promise that the full inheritance is coming. He's not just hoping to follow through; He's already put down a deposit.

15

Wherefore I also, after I heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus, and love unto all the saints,

Spiritual Insight

Paul heard about their faith and love, and it moved him. When people live out genuine faith, it doesn't go unnoticed — it encourages others deeply.

16

Cease not to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers;

Spiritual Insight

Paul never stopped thanking God for these people. Imagine having someone pray for you that consistently. Who in your life could use that kind of faithful prayer?

17

That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him:

Spiritual Insight

Paul prays for wisdom and revelation — not more information, but deeper knowing. There's a difference between knowing facts about God and actually knowing God.

18

The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints,

Spiritual Insight

Paul wants their hearts enlightened to grasp the hope and the riches. Sometimes we've been given everything but live like paupers because we don't realize what's ours.

19

And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power,

Spiritual Insight

The same power that raised Christ from the dead is at work in believers. That's not a gentle suggestion — that's atomic-level strength available to you right now.

20

Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places,

Spiritual Insight

God raised Christ and seated Him at His right hand — the position of ultimate authority. And remarkably, He wants to bring us into that same position of favor.

21

Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come:

Spiritual Insight

Christ is far above every power and name — present and future. No matter what seems overwhelming in your life, it's already under His feet.

22

And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church,

Spiritual Insight

God put everything under Christ's feet and made Him head over everything for the church. Christ's authority isn't abstract — it's specifically for the benefit of His people.

23

Which is his body, the fulness of him that filleth all in all.

Spiritual Insight

The church is His body, filled with His fullness. We're not just an organization — we're the very presence of Christ in the world. That's both humbling and empowering.
