酒 能 使 人 褻 慢， 濃 酒 使 人 喧 嚷 ； 凡 因 酒 錯 誤 的， 就 無 智 慧。
Wine is a mocker, strong drink is raging: and whosoever is deceived thereby is not wise.

酒能使人褻慢，濃酒使人喧嚷——被它們引導偏離不是智慧。真正的力量在於自制，而不是我們所消費的東西。
王 的 威 嚇 如 同 獅 子 吼 叫 ； 惹 動 他 怒 的， 是 自 害 己 命。
The fear of a king is as the roaring of a lion: whoso provoketh him to anger sinneth against his own soul.

惹動王的忿怒就像威脅自己的性命。權柄帶著真實的分量，不尊重它會有嚴重的後果。
遠 離 紛 爭 是 人 的 尊 榮 ； 愚 妄 人 都 愛 爭 鬧。
It is an honour for a man to cease from strife: but every fool will be meddling.

避免不必要的衝突實際上是光榮的。只有愚昧人才覺得需要不斷攪動事情。
懶 惰 人 因 冬 寒 不 肯 耕 種， 到 收 割 的 時 候， 他 必 討 飯 而 無 所 得。
The sluggard will not plow by reason of the cold; therefore shall he beg in harvest, and have nothing.

懶惰人找藉口——天太冷不能工作——到收成時卻一無所有。今天的拖延造成明天的貧窮。
人 心 懷 藏 謀 略， 好 像 深 水， 惟 明 哲 人 才 能 汲 引 出 來。
Counsel in the heart of man is like deep water; but a man of understanding will draw it out.

好的謀略如同深水——它在那裡，但你需要聰明才能汲取。智慧需要深入挖掘的耐心。
人 多 述 說 自 己 的 仁 慈， 但 忠 信 人 誰 能 遇 著 呢 ？
Most men will proclaim every one his own goodness: but a faithful man who can find?

每個人都自稱善良忠信，但真正值得信賴的人有多罕見？讓我們努力成為那個罕見的人。
行 為 純 正 的 義 人， 他 的 子 孫 是 有 福 的 ！
The just man walketh in his integrity: his children are blessed after him.

A king that sitteth in the throne of judgment scattereth away all evil with his eyes.

一個有智慧的領袖能夠僅憑仔細觀察就分辨並驅散邪惡。公義的領導帶來清晰和正義。
誰 能 說， 我 潔 淨 了 我 的 心， 我 脫 淨 了 我 的 罪 ？
Who can say, I have made my heart clean, I am pure from my sin?

誰能誠實地說自己已經使心完全潔淨了呢？這個反問提醒我們每個人都需要恩典。
兩 樣 的 法 碼， 兩 樣 的 升 斗， 都 為 耶 和 華 所 憎 惡。
Divers weights, and divers measures, both of them are alike abomination to the LORD.
屬靈感悟
不同的法碼和升斗為耶和華所憎惡——在小事上欺騙對神來說仍然重要。正直表現在細節中。
孩 童 的 動 作 是 清 潔， 是 正 直， 都 顯 明 他 的 本 性。
Even a child is known by his doings, whether his work be pure, and whether it be right.

即使是孩子也因他們的行為被認識——品格早早顯露。無論年齡大小，我們所做的揭示了我們真正是誰。
能 聽 的 耳， 能 看 的 眼， 都 是 耶 和 華 所 造 的。
The hearing ear, and the seeing eye, the LORD hath made even both of them.

神造了能聽的耳和能看的眼。我們感知和理解的能力都來自祂——每一個感官都是禮物。
不 要 貪 睡， 免 致 貧 窮 ； 眼 要 睜 開， 你 就 吃 飽。
Love not sleep, lest thou come to poverty; open thine eyes, and thou shalt be satisfied with bread.

不要過分貪睡以至於陷入貧窮——醒來工作，你就會有足夠的。在休息中的節制帶來供應中的豐盛。
買 物 的 說 ： 不 好， 不 好 ； 及 至 買 去， 他 便 自 誇。
It is naught, it is naught, saith the buyer: but when he is gone his way, then he boasteth.

買家總是抱怨價格，然後事後又吹噓自己撿到便宜。人性沒有改變——我們都想感覺自己佔了上風。
有 金 子 和 許 多 珍 珠 （ 或 譯 ： 紅 寶 石 ）， 惟 有 知 識 的 嘴 乃 為 貴 重 的 珍 寶。
There is gold, and a multitude of rubies: but the lips of knowledge are a precious jewel.
屬靈感悟
與能說出知識的嘴唇相比，黃金和紅寶石算不得什麼。智慧的言語是最稀有、最珍貴的寶藏。
誰 為 生 人 作 保， 就 拿 誰 的 衣 服 ； 誰 為 外 人 作 保， 誰 就 要 承 當。
Take his garment that is surety for a stranger: and take a pledge of him for a strange woman.
屬靈感悟
如果有人愚蠢到為陌生人擔保，他們甚至可能失去自己的遮蓋。財務上的審慎是一種智慧。
以 虛 謊 而 得 的 食 物， 人 覺 甘 甜 ； 但 後 來， 他 的 口 必 充 滿 塵 沙。
Bread of deceit is sweet to a man; but afterwards his mouth shall be filled with gravel.

欺騙得來的利益開始嘗起來甘甜，但最後就像滿口碎石。不誠實帶來的短暫快樂導致長期的痛苦。
計 謀 都 憑 籌 算 立 定 ； 打 仗 要 憑 智 謀。
Every purpose is established by counsel: and with good advice make war.

計畫因好的謀略而成就，甚至打仗也應當基於謹慎的建議。不要獨自面對任何重大決定。
往 來 傳 舌 的， 洩 漏 密 事 ； 大 張 嘴 的， 不 可 與 他 結 交。
He that goeth about as a talebearer revealeth secrets: therefore meddle not with him that flattereth with his lips.
屬靈感悟
傳舌的人洩露秘密，所以要小心你向誰傾吐。如果一個人過分奉承，他們可能不值得信任你的深層真相。
咒 罵 父 母 的， 他 的 燈 必 滅， 變 為 漆 黑 的 黑 暗。
Whoso curseth his father or his mother, his lamp shall be put out in obscure darkness.

咒罵父母的，他的燈必在極深的黑暗中熄滅。孝敬父母不只是一條誡命——它與我們自己的福祉相連。
起 初 速 得 的 產 業， 終 久 卻 不 為 福。
An inheritance may be gotten hastily at the beginning; but the end thereof shall not be blessed.

過快獲得的產業最終可能不得祝福。來得容易去得快——持久的財富通常是通過耐心和勤奮建立起來的。
你 不 要 說， 我 要 以 惡 報 惡 ； 要 等 候 耶 和 華， 他 必 拯 救 你。
Say not thou, I will recompense evil; but wait on the LORD, and he shall save thee.
屬靈感悟
不要說「我要報復」——相反，等候耶和華來施行公義。放下報復很難，但信靠神的結果帶來真正的平安。
兩 樣 的 法 碼 為 耶 和 華 所 憎 惡 ； 詭 詐 的 天 平 也 為 不 善。
Divers weights are an abomination unto the LORD; and a false balance is not good.

不誠實的法碼和詭詐的天平為耶和華所憎惡——祂重複這一點，因為商業上的公平對祂來說意義重大。
人 的 腳 步 為 耶 和 華 所 定 ； 人 豈 能 明 白 自 己 的 路 呢 ？
Man’s goings are of the LORD; how can a man then understand his own way?

我們的腳步由耶和華指引，所以我們怎能完全明白自己的道路呢？神的引導中有奧秘，需要的是信靠而非完全的理解。
人 冒 失 說， 這 是 聖 物， 許 願 之 後 才 查 問， 就 是 自 陷 網 羅。
It is a snare to the man who devoureth that which is holy, and after vows to make enquiry.

倉促許願關於聖物可能成為網羅。我們在向神許諾之前應當仔細思考——我們的話語帶著真實的屬靈分量。
智 慧 的 王 簸 散 惡 人， 用 碌 碡 滾 軋 他 們。
A wise king scattereth the wicked, and bringeth the wheel over them.

智慧的君王辨別惡人並果斷地對付他們。好的領導既需要看見邪惡的遠見，也需要對抗它的勇氣。
人 的 靈 是 耶 和 華 的 燈， 鑒 察 人 的 心 腹。
The spirit of man is the candle of the LORD, searching all the inward parts of the belly.
屬靈感悟
人的靈是耶和華的燈，照亮了我們最深處。祂搜查我們的深處——沒有什麼能在祂的光中隱藏。
王 因 仁 慈 和 誠 實 得 以 保 全 他 的 國 位， 也 因 仁 慈 立 穩。
Mercy and truth preserve the king: and his throne is upholden by mercy.

慈愛和誠實保全君王，他的寶座以堅定的愛來支撐。沒有憐憫的領導最終會崩塌。
強 壯 乃 少 年 人 的 榮 耀 ； 白 髮 為 老 年 人 的 尊 榮。
The glory of young men is their strength: and the beauty of old men is the grey head.
屬靈感悟
年輕人有力量的榮耀，老年人有白髮的美麗。人生的每個季節都有神所賜的光彩。
鞭 傷 除 淨 人 的 罪 惡 ； 責 打 能 入 人 的 心 腹。
The blueness of a wound cleanseth away evil: so do stripes the inward parts of the belly.
屬靈感悟
有時候痛苦是潔淨我們的方式——傷口和管教可以淨化我們最深處的內在。神甚至可以使用我們的傷痛來醫治我們。
