約伯記 第 40

耶 和 華 又 對 約 伯 說 ：

Moreover the LORD answered Job, and said,

強 辯 的 豈 可 與 全 能 者 爭 論 麼 ？ 與 神 辯 駁 的 可 以 回 答 這 些 罷 ！

Shall he that contendeth with the Almighty instruct him? he that reproveth God, let him answer it.

於 是， 約 伯 回 答 耶 和 華 說 ：

Then Job answered the LORD, and said,

我 是 卑 賤 的 ！ 我 用 甚 麼 回 答 你 呢 ？ 只 好 用 手 摀 口。

Behold, I am vile; what shall I answer thee? I will lay mine hand upon my mouth.

我 說 了 一 次， 再 不 回 答 ； 說 了 兩 次， 就 不 再 說。

Once have I spoken; but I will not answer: yea, twice; but I will proceed no further.

於 是， 耶 和 華 從 旋 風 中 回 答 約 伯 說 ：

Then answered the LORD unto Job out of the whirlwind, and said,

你 要 如 勇 士 束 腰 ； 我 問 你， 你 可 以 指 示 我。

Gird up thy loins now like a man: I will demand of thee, and declare thou unto me.

你 豈 可 廢 棄 我 所 擬 定 的 ？ 豈 可 定 我 有 罪， 好 顯 自 己 為 義 麼 ？

Wilt thou also disannul my judgment? wilt thou condemn me, that thou mayest be righteous?

你 有 神 那 樣 的 膀 臂 麼 ？ 你 能 像 他 發 雷 聲 麼 ？

Hast thou an arm like God? or canst thou thunder with a voice like him?

你 要 以 榮 耀 莊 嚴 為 妝 飾， 以 尊 榮 威 嚴 為 衣 服 ；

Deck thyself now with majesty and excellency; and array thyself with glory and beauty.

要 發 出 你 滿 溢 的 怒 氣， 見 一 切 驕 傲 的 人， 使 他 降 卑 ；

Cast abroad the rage of thy wrath: and behold every one that is proud, and abase him.

見 一 切 驕 傲 的 人， 將 他 制 伏， 把 惡 人 踐 踏 在 本 處 ；

Look on every one that is proud, and bring him low; and tread down the wicked in their place.

將 他 們 一 同 隱 藏 在 塵 土 中， 把 他 們 的 臉 蒙 蔽 在 隱 密 處 ；

Hide them in the dust together; and bind their faces in secret.

我 就 認 你 右 手 能 以 救 自 己。

Then will I also confess unto thee that thine own right hand can save thee.

你 且 觀 看 河 馬 ； 我 造 你 也 造 他。 他 吃 草 與 牛 一 樣 ；

Behold now behemoth, which I made with thee; he eateth grass as an ox.

他 的 氣 力 在 腰 間， 能 力 在 肚 腹 的 筋 上。

Lo now, his strength is in his loins, and his force is in the navel of his belly.

他 搖 動 尾 巴 如 香 柏 樹 ； 他 大 腿 的 筋 互 相 聯 絡。

He moveth his tail like a cedar: the sinews of his stones are wrapped together.

他 的 骨 頭 好 像 銅 管 ； 他 的 肢 體 彷 彿 鐵 棍。

His bones are as strong pieces of brass; his bones are like bars of iron.

他 在 神 所 造 的 物 中 為 首 ； 創 造 他 的 給 他 刀 劍。

He is the chief of the ways of God: he that made him can make his sword to approach unto him.

諸 山 給 他 出 食 物， 也 是 百 獸 遊 玩 之 處。

Surely the mountains bring him forth food, where all the beasts of the field play.

他 伏 在 蓮 葉 之 下， 臥 在 蘆 葦 隱 密 處 和 水 窪 子 裡。

He lieth under the shady trees, in the covert of the reed, and fens.

蓮 葉 的 陰 涼 遮 蔽 他 ； 溪 旁 的 柳 樹 環 繞 他。

The shady trees cover him with their shadow; the willows of the brook compass him about.

河 水 泛 濫， 他 不 發 戰 ； 就 是 約 但 河 的 水 漲 到 他 口 邊， 也 是 安 然。

Behold, he drinketh up a river, and hasteth not: he trusteth that he can draw up Jordan into his mouth.

在 他 防 備 的 時 候， 誰 能 捉 拿 他 ？ 誰 能 牢 籠 他 穿 他 的 鼻 子 呢 ？

He taketh it with his eyes: his nose pierceth through snares.
