Revelation Capítulo 8

KJV — King James Version · 13 versículos

1

And when he had opened the seventh seal, there was silence in heaven about the space of half an hour.

Spiritual Insight

Silence in heaven for half an hour — after all the singing and thunder, stillness falls. Sometimes the most powerful thing God does is pause, and that silence is heavy with meaning.

2

And I saw the seven angels which stood before God; and to them were given seven trumpets.

Spiritual Insight

Seven angels given seven trumpets — each blast will announce a new wave of God's intervention. He warns before He strikes because His goal is repentance, not destruction.

3

And another angel came and stood at the altar, having a golden censer; and there was given unto him much incense, that he should offer it with the prayers of all saints upon the golden altar which was before the throne.

Spiritual Insight

An angel with a golden censer offers incense with the prayers of all saints — your prayers literally mix with heavenly incense. Every whispered petition rises as a fragrant offering before God.

4

And the smoke of the incense, which came with the prayers of the saints, ascended up before God out of the angel’s hand.

Spiritual Insight

The smoke of the incense rose with the prayers — God breathes in your prayers like perfume. They don't bounce off the ceiling; they ascend directly into His presence.

5

And the angel took the censer, and filled it with fire of the altar, and cast it into the earth: and there were voices, and thunderings, and lightnings, and an earthquake.

Spiritual Insight

The censer filled with altar fire is hurled to earth — prayer turns to action. The same God who receives your prayers quietly also responds with earth-shaking power.

6

And the seven angels which had the seven trumpets prepared themselves to sound.

Spiritual Insight

Seven angels prepared to sound — a deep breath before the storm. God is never hasty in judgment; each trumpet is weighed and measured with solemn care.

7

The first angel sounded, and there followed hail and fire mingled with blood, and they were cast upon the earth: and the third part of trees was burnt up, and all green grass was burnt up.

Spiritual Insight

Hail and fire mixed with blood — the first trumpet strikes the green things of earth. Even nature bears the weight of humanity's rebellion, suffering collateral damage from sin.

8

And the second angel sounded, and as it were a great mountain burning with fire was cast into the sea: and the third part of the sea became blood;

Spiritual Insight

A burning mountain thrown into the sea turns a third of it to blood — the oceans aren't spared. What seems immovable and permanent can be overturned in a single act of God.

9

And the third part of the creatures which were in the sea, and had life, died; and the third part of the ships were destroyed.

Spiritual Insight

A third of sea creatures die and a third of ships are destroyed — commerce and creation suffer together. God's judgments touch both what sustains life and what sustains economies.

10

And the third angel sounded, and there fell a great star from heaven, burning as it were a lamp, and it fell upon the third part of the rivers, and upon the fountains of waters;

Spiritual Insight

A great star falls from heaven on the rivers — even the freshwater sources are struck. The essentials we take for granted — clean water, stable skies — can be disrupted in moments.

11

And the name of the star is called Wormwood: and the third part of the waters became wormwood; and many men died of the waters, because they were made bitter.

Spiritual Insight

The star's name is Wormwood, and the waters turned bitter — poison from heaven seeps into daily necessities. Sin has a way of making even the sweet things of life undrinkable.

12

And the fourth angel sounded, and the third part of the sun was smitten, and the third part of the moon, and the third part of the stars; so as the third part of them was darkened, and the day shone not for a third part of it, and the night likewise.

Spiritual Insight

A third of the sun, moon, and stars are struck — even the lights go dim. When the sources of illumination darken, the world gropes for a brightness only God can restore.

13

And I beheld, and heard an angel flying through the midst of heaven, saying with a loud voice, Woe, woe, woe, to the inhabiters of the earth by reason of the other voices of the trumpet of the three angels, which are yet to sound!

Spiritual Insight

An eagle flying mid-heaven crying 'Woe, woe, woe' — a triple warning before the final three trumpets. God sends warnings through unexpected messengers; even a bird becomes a prophet here.
