Revelation Capítulo 3
KJV — King James Version · 22 versículos
And unto the angel of the church in Sardis write; These things saith he that hath the seven Spirits of God, and the seven stars; I know thy works, that thou hast a name that thou livest, and art dead.
Spiritual Insight
Having a reputation for being alive while actually being dead — that's a haunting diagnosis. Activity without vitality is a spiritual warning sign we all need to watch for.
Be watchful, and strengthen the things which remain, that are ready to die: for I have not found thy works perfect before God.
Spiritual Insight
Strengthen what remains, even if it's barely hanging on — God never asks you to fix everything at once. He just asks you to nurture the flickering flame before it goes out.
Remember therefore how thou hast received and heard, and hold fast, and repent. If therefore thou shalt not watch, I will come on thee as a thief, and thou shalt not know what hour I will come upon thee.
Spiritual Insight
Remember what you received, hold fast, repent — or He'll come like a thief. The surprise isn't meant to scare you into compliance but to wake you into readiness.
Thou hast a few names even in Sardis which have not defiled their garments; and they shall walk with me in white: for they are worthy.
Spiritual Insight
Even in a dying church, a few have not stained their garments — faithfulness in a faithless environment is possible. You don't need a crowd to be faithful; you just need conviction.
He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels.
Spiritual Insight
White clothing, a name kept in the book of life, confessed before the Father — three layers of belonging. When you overcome, Jesus Himself vouches for you before all of heaven.
He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.
Spiritual Insight
Again, hear what the Spirit says — repetition in Scripture signals urgency, not boredom. God repeats Himself because He loves you too much to let you miss it.
And to the angel of the church in Philadelphia write; These things saith he that is holy, he that is true, he that hath the key of David, he that openeth, and no man shutteth; and shutteth, and no man openeth;
Spiritual Insight
He holds the key of David — He opens doors no one can shut and shuts doors no one can open. When God positions a door in your life, you can trust it completely.
I know thy works: behold, I have set before thee an open door, and no man can shut it: for thou hast a little strength, and hast kept my word, and hast not denied my name.
Spiritual Insight
An open door given to a church with only 'a little strength' — God doesn't require might, just faithfulness. Your weakness is the perfect canvas for His open doors.
Behold, I will make them of the synagogue of Satan, which say they are Jews, and are not, but do lie; behold, I will make them to come and worship before thy feet, and to know that I have loved thee.
Spiritual Insight
Those who opposed them will one day acknowledge God's love for them — vindication comes from God, not from proving yourself. Let Him handle your reputation while you focus on faithfulness.
Because thou hast kept the word of my patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation, which shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth.
Spiritual Insight
Because you kept My word of patience, I will keep you from the hour of trial — there is a beautiful reciprocity. Your perseverance stores up divine protection for seasons you haven't yet entered.
Behold, I come quickly: hold that fast which thou hast, that no man take thy crown.
Spiritual Insight
Hold fast, let no one take your crown — your reward is secure in Christ but can be neglected or abandoned. Guarding your faith isn't paranoia; it's wisdom.
Him that overcometh will I make a pillar in the temple of my God, and he shall go no more out: and I will write upon him the name of my God, and the name of the city of my God, which is new Jerusalem, which cometh down out of heaven from my God: and I will write upon him my new name.
Spiritual Insight
A pillar in God's temple, never to leave again, with God's name written on you — permanence and identity combined. The overcomer gets a forever home and a forever name.
He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.
Spiritual Insight
The seventh and final call to hear — each church needed the same invitation. Listening is the simplest and hardest spiritual discipline, and it never goes out of style.
And unto the angel of the church of the Laodiceans write; These things saith the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation of God;
Spiritual Insight
To Laodicea, Jesus is the Amen — the final word, the absolute 'so be it.' When your life feels uncertain, remember He is the certainty behind every promise of God.
I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot.
Spiritual Insight
Neither cold nor hot — He wishes you were one or the other. Lukewarm faith is the most uncomfortable temperature for God because it's comfortable for you and utterly useless to Him.
So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth.
Spiritual Insight
Being spat out is a vivid image — lukewarmness makes God physically ill. It's not anger; it's grief. Indifference wounds Him more than rebellion because at least rebellion is passionate.
Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked:
Spiritual Insight
They said 'I am rich' while being wretched, poor, blind, and naked — self-deception is the most dangerous spiritual condition. The first step to healing is admitting you're sick.
I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see.
Spiritual Insight
Buy gold refined by fire, white clothes, eye salve — three gifts for three deficiencies. Jesus doesn't just diagnose; He prescribes, and His medicine is always exactly what you need.
As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent.
Spiritual Insight
As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten — correction is proof of love, not evidence of rejection. If God is disciplining you, lean in rather than pulling away; it means you're His.
Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.
Spiritual Insight
He stands at the door and knocks — the most intimate image in all of Revelation. The God of the universe is politely waiting for you to open, not forcing His way in. Your 'yes' matters that much.
To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne.
Spiritual Insight
Sitting with Him on His throne — the overcomer shares the very seat of Christ. This isn't a participation trophy; this is co-reigning with the King, earned through the same path He walked.
He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.
Spiritual Insight
One last 'hear what the Spirit says' — the letters to the seven churches close with the same invitation. The Spirit hasn't stopped speaking; the question is whether we've started listening.
