Mark Capítulo 16

KJV — King James Version · 20 versículos

1

And when the sabbath was past, Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James, and Salome, had bought sweet spices, that they might come and anoint him.

Spiritual Insight

When the Sabbath was over, the women bought spices to anoint Jesus' body. Love doesn't stop at death — it shows up the next morning with perfume and devotion. Their faithfulness was greater than their understanding.

2

And very early in the morning the first day of the week, they came unto the sepulchre at the rising of the sun.

Spiritual Insight

Very early on the first day of the week, just after sunrise, they went to the tomb. Dawn has always been God's favorite time for new beginnings. These women walked into the greatest sunrise in history.

3

And they said among themselves, Who shall roll us away the stone from the door of the sepulchre?

Spiritual Insight

They asked each other, Who will roll the stone away? They went in spite of the obstacle. Sometimes the most faithful thing we can do is show up, even when we can't see how the problem will be solved.

4

And when they looked, they saw that the stone was rolled away: for it was very great.

Spiritual Insight

They looked up and saw that the stone, which was very large, had been rolled away. The obstacle they feared was already removed before they arrived. God often solves our problems before we even get there.

5

And entering into the sepulchre, they saw a young man sitting on the right side, clothed in a long white garment; and they were affrighted.

Spiritual Insight

Entering the tomb, they saw a young man dressed in white sitting on the right side, and they were alarmed. An empty tomb and a heavenly messenger — this was not what they expected to find.

6

And he saith unto them, Be not affrighted: Ye seek Jesus of Nazareth, which was crucified: he is risen; he is not here: behold the place where they laid him.

Spiritual Insight

Don't be alarmed. You're looking for Jesus of Nazareth, who was crucified. He has risen! He is not here. See the place where they laid Him. The angel's message is still the best news ever spoken: He is not here — He has risen!

7

But go your way, tell his disciples and Peter that he goeth before you into Galilee: there shall ye see him, as he said unto you.

Spiritual Insight

Go, tell His disciples and Peter. Notice Peter's name — the one who denied Him was specifically included. Jesus' resurrection message had a personal footnote of restoration for the one who thought he'd blown it beyond repair.

8

And they went out quickly, and fled from the sepulchre; for they trembled and were amazed: neither said they any thing to any man; for they were afraid.

Spiritual Insight

Trembling and bewildered, they fled from the tomb and said nothing to anyone, because they were afraid. This is how Mark originally ended — in silence and awe. Sometimes the most overwhelming encounters with God leave us speechless.

9

Now when Jesus was risen early the first day of the week, he appeared first to Mary Magdalene, out of whom he had cast seven devils.

Spiritual Insight

Jesus appeared first to Mary Magdalene, from whom He had driven out seven demons. The first witness of the resurrection was a woman with a past. God always chooses the unexpected to announce the extraordinary.

10

And she went and told them that had been with him, as they mourned and wept.

Spiritual Insight

She went and told those who had been with Him, who were mourning and weeping. The first evangelist was a woman with a testimony. She didn't have theology — she had an encounter.

11

And they, when they had heard that he was alive, and had been seen of her, believed not.

Spiritual Insight

When they heard He was alive and she had seen Him, they didn't believe it. Grief makes us deaf to good news. Sometimes the last people to believe the resurrection are those who are closest to the pain.

12

After that he appeared in another form unto two of them, as they walked, and went into the country.

Spiritual Insight

Jesus appeared in a different form to two of them as they walked in the country. The risen Jesus wasn't always immediately recognizable. Sometimes He walks with us and we don't even know it's Him.

13

And they went and told it unto the residue: neither believed they them.

Spiritual Insight

They told the rest, but they didn't believe them either. Two witnesses weren't enough for the doubting disciples. Unbelief has a stubbornness that even multiple testimonies can't easily crack.

14

Afterward he appeared unto the eleven as they sat at meat, and upbraided them with their unbelief and hardness of heart, because they believed not them which had seen him after he was risen.

Spiritual Insight

Later, Jesus appeared to the Eleven as they were eating and rebuked them for their unbelief. Jesus was honest about their failure but didn't give up on them. His love corrects but never abandons.

15

And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.

Spiritual Insight

Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation. The risen Christ's first command was a commission — the good news that changed everything for them must now change everything for everyone.

16

He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.

Spiritual Insight

Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved. The invitation is wide open — whoever. Not the worthy, not the perfect, not the religious — whoever believes. That's grace without limits.

17

And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;

Spiritual Insight

Signs will accompany those who believe: driving out demons, speaking in new tongues. The resurrection life isn't just about believing — it's about power. The same Spirit that raised Jesus lives in us.

18

They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.

Spiritual Insight

They will pick up snakes, drink poison without harm, and lay hands on the sick who will recover. These aren't stunts — they're signs that God's power is greater than any danger. The risen Lord protects and empowers His people.

19

So then after the Lord had spoken unto them, he was received up into heaven, and sat on the right hand of God.

Spiritual Insight

After the Lord had spoken to them, He was taken up into heaven and sat at the right hand of God. The ascension wasn't a departure — it was an enthronement. Jesus didn't leave us; He took His seat as King.

20

And they went forth, and preached every where, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word with signs following. Amen.

Spiritual Insight

They went out and preached everywhere, and the Lord worked with them, confirming His word by signs. The story doesn't end at the ascension — it continues through us. Jesus is still working, still confirming, still saving. Amen.
