Mark Capítulo 13

KJV — King James Version · 37 versículos

1

And as he went out of the temple, one of his disciples saith unto him, Master, see what manner of stones and what buildings are here!

Spiritual Insight

A disciple marveled at the magnificent temple buildings. From a human perspective, it was impressive — massive stones, gleaming gold, architectural glory. But Jesus saw beyond the surface.

2

And Jesus answering said unto him, Seest thou these great buildings? there shall not be left one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down.

Spiritual Insight

Not one stone will be left upon another. Jesus' words must have been shocking — the temple was the center of their world. But everything we build on earth is temporary; only what's built on God lasts.

3

And as he sat upon the mount of Olives over against the temple, Peter and James and John and Andrew asked him privately,

Spiritual Insight

Peter, James, John, and Andrew asked Him privately — when will these things happen? They wanted a timeline. We still do. But Jesus gave them something better than a schedule: He gave them wisdom for living in uncertain times.

4

Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign when all these things shall be fulfilled?

Spiritual Insight

What will be the sign that these things are about to happen? They wanted a signal, a warning light. But Jesus' answer was less about predicting the future and more about being faithful in the present.

5

And Jesus answering them began to say, Take heed lest any man deceive you:

Spiritual Insight

Watch out that no one deceives you. Jesus' first warning wasn't about danger — it was about deception. The greatest threat to our faith isn't persecution; it's being led astray by convincing lies.

6

For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many.

Spiritual Insight

Many will come claiming to be the Christ and will deceive many. False messiahs don't look obviously fake — they look convincing enough to lead sincere people astray. Discernment matters.

7

And when ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars, be ye not troubled: for such things must needs be; but the end shall not be yet.

Spiritual Insight

When you hear of wars and rumors of wars, don't be alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come. Bad news isn't the end of the story — it's just part of the journey.

8

For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be earthquakes in divers places, and there shall be famines and troubles: these are the beginnings of sorrows.

Spiritual Insight

Nation against nation, earthquakes, famines — these are the beginning of birth pains. Notice the metaphor: not death throes, but birth pains. The world's suffering is leading somewhere new.

9

But take heed to yourselves: for they shall deliver you up to councils; and in the synagogues ye shall be beaten: and ye shall be brought before rulers and kings for my sake, for a testimony against them.

Spiritual Insight

You'll be handed over to councils and beaten in synagogues. Following Jesus doesn't exempt us from suffering — sometimes it guarantees it. But even persecution becomes a platform for witness.

10

And the gospel must first be published among all nations.

Spiritual Insight

The gospel must first be preached to all nations. Before the end comes, God's message of love will reach every corner of the earth. The mission isn't optional — it's essential to God's timeline.

11

But when they shall lead you, and deliver you up, take no thought beforehand what ye shall speak, neither do ye premeditate: but whatsoever shall be given you in that hour, that speak ye: for it is not ye that speak, but the Holy Ghost.

Spiritual Insight

Don't worry about what to say — the Holy Spirit will speak through you. When you're put on the spot for your faith, God provides the words. You're never alone in your witness.

12

Now the brother shall betray the brother to death, and the father the son; and children shall rise up against their parents, and shall cause them to be put to death.

Spiritual Insight

Brother will betray brother, and fathers their children. The deepest betrayals often come from the closest relationships. Faithfulness to Christ can be costly beyond what we imagine.

13

And ye shall be hated of all men for my name’s sake: but he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.

Spiritual Insight

You will be hated by everyone because of Me, but whoever endures to the end will be saved. Endurance isn't gritting your teeth — it's holding on to Jesus when everything else falls away.

14

But when ye shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing where it ought not, (let him that readeth understand,) then let them that be in Judaea flee to the mountains:

Spiritual Insight

When you see the abomination of desolation, flee to the mountains. Sometimes the most faithful action is to run, not to fight. Wisdom knows when to retreat.

15

And let him that is on the housetop not go down into the house, neither enter therein, to take any thing out of his house:

Spiritual Insight

If you're on the rooftop, don't go inside to get your things. In moments of crisis, hesitation can be deadly. There's a time for decisive, immediate action.

16

And let him that is in the field not turn back again for to take up his garment.

Spiritual Insight

In the field, don't go back for your coat. Jesus repeated the urgency — material possessions aren't worth your life. Sometimes letting go of everything is the only way to survive.

17

But woe to them that are with child, and to them that give suck in those days!

Spiritual Insight

How terrible for pregnant women and nursing mothers in those days. Jesus' compassion extended even into prophetic warning — He ached for those who would suffer most.

18

And pray ye that your flight be not in the winter.

Spiritual Insight

Pray that this won't happen in winter. Jesus told them to pray about the circumstances of suffering, even if the suffering itself was certain. Our prayers matter, even when they can't change the outcome.

19

For in those days shall be affliction, such as was not from the beginning of the creation which God created unto this time, neither shall be.

Spiritual Insight

There will be suffering worse than anything in human history. Jesus didn't sugarcoat the future. He told the truth because honesty is a form of love.

20

And except that the Lord had shortened those days, no flesh should be saved: but for the elect’s sake, whom he hath chosen, he hath shortened the days.

Spiritual Insight

But for the sake of the elect, God will shorten those days. Even in judgment, God's mercy shortens the suffering. He always remembers His people.

21

And then if any man shall say to you, Lo, here is Christ; or, lo, he is there; believe him not:

Spiritual Insight

If someone says, 'Here is the Christ,' don't believe it. Jesus warned against looking for Him in the wrong places. The real Jesus doesn't need hype or spectacle to be recognized.

22

For false Christs and false prophets shall rise, and shall shew signs and wonders, to seduce, if it were possible, even the elect.

Spiritual Insight

False christs and false prophets will perform signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect. Supernatural doesn't automatically mean divine — even miracles can be counterfeited.

23

But take ye heed: behold, I have foretold you all things.

Spiritual Insight

I've told you everything ahead of time. Jesus didn't leave us in the dark. Forewarned is forearmed — knowing what's coming helps us stand firm when it arrives.

24

But in those days, after that tribulation, the sun shall be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light,

Spiritual Insight

After that tribulation, the sun will be darkened and the moon will not give its light. Creation itself will respond to the gravity of the moment. The physical world reflects spiritual reality.

25

And the stars of heaven shall fall, and the powers that are in heaven shall be shaken.

Spiritual Insight

The stars will fall from heaven and the powers in the sky will be shaken. Everything we thought was stable will tremble. Only God's kingdom cannot be shaken.

26

And then shall they see the Son of man coming in the clouds with great power and glory.

Spiritual Insight

Then they will see the Son of Man coming in clouds with great power and glory. After all the darkness, the King appears. The story doesn't end in catastrophe — it ends in coronation.

27

And then shall he send his angels, and shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from the uttermost part of the earth to the uttermost part of heaven.

Spiritual Insight

He will send His angels to gather His elect from the ends of the earth. No one who belongs to God will be left behind. His reach extends to every corner of creation.

28

Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When her branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is near:

Spiritual Insight

Learn from the fig tree: when its branches are tender and leaves appear, you know summer is near. Jesus used nature as a signpost. God has built signals into the world around us — we just need to pay attention.

29

So ye in like manner, when ye shall see these things come to pass, know that it is nigh, even at the doors.

Spiritual Insight

When you see these things happening, know that He is near, right at the door. Hope isn't distant — it's approaching. Every fulfilled prophecy is a door handle turning.

30

Verily I say unto you, that this generation shall not pass, till all these things be done.

Spiritual Insight

This generation will not pass away until all these things happen. Jesus spoke with certainty. God's timeline may be mysterious, but it is absolutely reliable.

31

Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away.

Spiritual Insight

Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will never pass away. Everything created is temporary; only God's truth is permanent. Build your life on what lasts.

32

But of that day and that hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels which are in heaven, neither the Son, but the Father.

Spiritual Insight

No one knows that day or hour — not the angels, not even the Son, only the Father. Jesus Himself lived in trusting dependence on the Father. If even He embraced uncertainty, we can too.

33

Take ye heed, watch and pray: for ye know not when the time is.

Spiritual Insight

Be on guard, be alert — you don't know when the time will come. Vigilance isn't paranoia; it's living every day with purpose, as if it matters eternally. Because it does.

34

For the Son of man is as a man taking a far journey, who left his house, and gave authority to his servants, and to every man his work, and commanded the porter to watch.

Spiritual Insight

It's like a man going on a journey, leaving his house in charge of his servants, each with an assigned task. We've all been given something to steward while the Master is away.

35

Watch ye therefore: for ye know not when the master of the house cometh, at even, or at midnight, or at the cockcrowing, or in the morning:

Spiritual Insight

Watch — because you don't know when the master will return, whether evening, midnight, rooster-crow, or dawn. Be ready at every hour, not just the ones you think are likely.

36

Lest coming suddenly he find you sleeping.

Spiritual Insight

Don't let Him find you sleeping when He arrives suddenly. Spiritual sleepiness sneaks up on us — we don't realize we've drifted until the Master is at the door.

37

And what I say unto you I say unto all, Watch.

Spiritual Insight

What I say to you, I say to everyone: Watch. This isn't just for the twelve — it's for all of us. Live awake, live ready, live with purpose. The King is coming.
